Job Description:

The Director of the RN-BSN program is responsible for the establishment and continued development of the RN-BSN program. The Director will be responsible for the faculty of the department, oversight of the curriculum as assembled by the faculty, strategic planning, accreditation, student recruitment and advising, course scheduling, and clinical placement. The Director will be allotted .75 FTE for administrative duties and .25 FTE for teaching load.

Required Skills:

Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field with an active RN Illinois license. We may consider an applicant with a Master’s in Nursing who is actively pursuing a doctoral degree.

Core Responsibilities:

1.Establish and continually improve the RN-BSN program and curriculum.

2.Provides leadership for and maintains quality faculty, including accountability for teaching excellence.

3.Facilitate faculty participation in curriculum, faculty recruitment and policy issues according to college philosophy.

4.Secure and maintain appropriate resources for success of the program.

5.Maintain a collaborative environment for faculty and students.

6.Provide a collegial atmosphere for College and community contingents.

7.Prepare and administer an annual budget with the finance department.

8.Maintain open communication with potential and current students, as well as alumni.

9.Assist faculty with relationships needed for clinical course, and finalize clinical placements.

10. Support faculty development and clinical practice for current evaluation and improvement of the program.

11. Participate in all levels of accreditation activity in the department and college.
