About Andrew Wheelock

Drummer/percussionist Andrew Wheelock is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Greenville College as well as Lincoln College. He is also a teaching assistant at the University of Illinois where he is completing a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree and where he earned a Master of Music degree (2015). He also holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Michigan University (2013). 

As an active jazz drummer and percussionist, Andrew Wheelock has had the great pleasure of performing with the likes of Rob Smith, Tito Carrillo, Jim Pugh, Chip Stephens, Larry Gray, Chip McNeil, Bill Sears, Tim Ries, John Fedchock, Nicholas Peyton, Bob Mintzer, and Chuchito Valdés. Andrew is currently playing with a number of different bands of different musical styles including jazz combos, big bands, Serbian jazz, funk, and Afro-Cuban groups. In addition to a blooming performance career, Andrew is a passionate teacher. He has been teaching drums, percussion, jazz, music history, and music theory for the past 12 years as a private instructor, drum line coach, high school percussion instructor, jazz band director, teaching assistant, and college instructor.
