Develops and establishes a crime prevention plan and manages Campus parking.  Completes thorough investigations of any assigned incident which occurs on Campus.  Manages and updates "Clery" to meet federal guidelines.  Liaison to local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies

About Michael Lennix

Former Chicago Police and retired Illinois State Police Commander. Past responsibilities included the daily operations of the District to include Field personnel, Telecommunications and, after hour, SWAT callouts. Such notables as:
* Maryville Pastor who was fatally wounded in Church.
* Manhunts in East Saint Louis, Belleville and O'Fallon (all captured).
* Sniper on the Martin Luther King Jr. bridge.
* Identifying and capturing the assailant who shot the Belleville Police Sergeant.
* Bomb threats in East Saint Louis, Belleville and Collinsville High School.
* Barricaded subjects with weapons in East Saint Louis, Washington Park, Hamel, Smithton and Scott Air Force Base (unincorporated area).

Lennix's special trainings include:
Hazardous Materials recognition, Drug and Gang Awareness, Interview and Interrogation, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Terrorist Threat and First Aid.

Publications and Presentations

Director Lennix retired from the Illinois State Police as the District Commander in Collinsville.  He served over twenty-seven years while supervising the Operations and Administrative Commanders of his five county district. Lennix was responsible for approximately two hundred personnel in addition to ensuring the safety of the citizenry of his District.
