Physics Education Major

Besides academic work, the department also espouses a culture of service. In May of 2010, Dr. Richard Lombardini along with two students, Dwight Sanders and Brian Stratton, traveled to Guatemala on a mission trip under the auspices of Students International. Equipped with Godly desire and strength, they helped in the construction of a community center for a poor community, El Gorrion. Due to natural disasters, such as a tropical storm and mudslides, the GC team switched to relief-work mode, and armed with a shovel, they dug mud out of peoples' homes while trying to salvage their belongings.

The Physics Major promotes undergraduate research and actively participates in the GC Summer Research Experience (GC/SRX), GC's own in-house research program.

Through on-campus research or by participating in internship programs, Greenville students have access to a broad range of research opportunities. Greenville College maintains an impressive array of laboratory facilities and equipment. Professors in the science and math division are actively engaged in many diverse research projects. Students work with professors on research projects and all research facilities are fully accessible to the students.
