ESL Endorsement

Teaching English as a Second Language Endorsement

Current educators who want to become state qualified to teach English to children of whom English is not their primary language can complete the ESL letter of approval/endorsement fully online. The program consists of six courses:

  • Linguistics for Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Cross-Cultural Studies for Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Methods and Materials for Teachers of English as a Second Language
  • Theoretical Foundations of Second Language Development and Teaching
  • Assessment and Evaluation for Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Clinical Experience for Teaching English as a Second Language

ANGEL, Greenville College's online learning management system, will be utilized for communication purposes, discussion boards, and online interaction beginning the first scheduled day of class. Cost

The 2011-12 tuition for the Teaching English as a Second Language endorsement is $396 per credit for the 18 credit hour program. Tuition is subject to change each fall. Anticipated tuition and fees for the program are approximately $7,130. Students are responsible for providing their own computer and Internet access for each course. Financial aid is available in the form of graduate student loans.

Book rental is included in tuition which means textbooks for all of your classes will be available with no extra out-of-pocket costs.
