Special Education, M.A.E. Overview


M.A.E., Special Education

Our Master of Arts in Education - Special Education degree is a 30 credit hour program that will renew and strengthen your understanding of special education and broaden your qualifications as a professional working with students with disabilities. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Teachers may complete the MAE-Special Education program in as little as 18 months. Classes are  offered in an online format that allows you flexibility as you complete the program. Online courses are offered year round. Students desiring to meet Illinois State Board of Education requirements towards the Learning Behavior Specialist I endorsement will need to take a clinical practicum in addition to the degree requirements.
