The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed for students that have a Bachelor's Degree and would like to continue their education in order to teach. Along with a Master of Arts Degree, students become prepared to receive their teaching certification in the state of Illinois.

Admissions Requirements
- Complete an application, and submit the $30 application fee.
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
- Complete a criminal background check.
Costs
2011-12 tuition for coursework and student teaching is $396 per credit hour. The MAT program requires 43-44 credit hours. Total costs for tuition and fees range from $17,140 - $17,535 for the 24 month program.

Format of MAT
- Locations: Greenville College, Kaskaskia College in Centralia, IL; Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, IL; Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL; and Belleville, IL
- Convenient times: Attend class one night a week from 6-10pm. Most classes meet for seven weeks.
- Convenient to complete: Our accelerated program can be completed in approximately 24 months depending on previous individual course work. This includes a 14 week student teaching experience (Summer classes not required).
- Students are required to complete field experience hours with each course in order to enrich their experience in the program.
