What does High School Dual Enrollment mean?

Online Dual Enrollment allows qualified high school students to take college courses while still enrolled in high school. All of your coursework will be communicated and submitted via the Internet.

What are the benefits of Dual Enrollment Online?

Are home-school students eligible for high school dual enrollment?

Yes, our program accepts home-schooled high school juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA and an ACT score of 20.

Will I receive a college grade?

By completing an online course at Greenville College, you will receive a grade and begin a college transcript. A transcript is a permanent, official copy of your college record.

Are online dual enrollment courses right for everyone?

While taking online courses can be challenging and can save time toward your college degree, they are not for everyone. Students should understand that the amount of work necessary to succeed in dual enrollment courses may require 10-15 hours per week per course. These college classes require self-discipline and motivation on the part of the student in order to receive a satisfactory grade.

Will I qualify for financial aid?

College financial aid is not for dual enrolled students, but for degree-seeking college students. Apply for financial aid in your senior year of high school in order to be ready for your first semester of college after you graduate.

Is dual enrollment in a Greenville College course equivalent to acceptance at Greenville College?

Being an online dual enrollment student means you are enrolled as a "Guest" student of our college, but your courses will all count as college credit. If you want to enroll at Greenville College after high school, your acceptance process will be more convenient, because you will have already submitted your initial transcripts and ACT scores.

When should I apply to Greenville College to become a college freshman?

Near the end of your junior year or during your senior year, fill out a Greenville College application for admission. The college will also need copies of your high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores. You will be invited to campus to visit, where you'll meet with an admissions representative and discuss degree options.

If I decide to attend another college after high school, will my online credits transfer?

Greenville College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, which assists transfer of credits to colleges and universities nationwide. College credits earned through dual enrollment may transfer to meet specific degree requirements or as elective credits, depending on the institution. If you plan to attend another college, you may want to check with the school's admissions office regarding transfer policies. Typically, only courses with a 2.0 grade or higher will transfer.
