Arrival and Orientation

You should plan to arrive for orientation ten days prior to the start of your first session. The exact date will be communicated in your acceptance letter. Please communicate with your admissions counselor before scheduling your flight. The Greenville College staff will greet you at the St. Louis airport to begin your orientation. Orientation consists of taking time to adjust to jet lag, setting up your bank account, obtaining a phone, learning to find your way on campus and in the city of Greenville, learning important information about the local culture and U.S. laws, meeting the professors and administration, bonding with your classmates, and participating in many fun and entertaining activities.

Housing and Food

There are several residence halls on campus. Men and women are housed in separate halls. Each room in a residence hall contains furniture including a desk, dresser, and bed for each student. The furniture is designed to be flexible in arrangement. A closet for hanging clothes is also built into each room.

Typically, two students are assigned to a room. Occasionally, there will be three. Every effort is made to assign international students to a room with only one other student and to assign international students with an American roommate.

The Dining Commons is the primary dining facility. It offers three meals a day Monday – Friday and two meals a day on the weekends. There are meal plan options allowing you to choose how many meals per week you prefer. The Student Union and Jo’s Java also offer dining options on campus. However, you must purchase items with USD or with your prepaid munch money account.
