Alumni Awards - Main

If you are a Greenville College graduate, you are eligible to nominate deserving fellow alumni for Greenville College's annual alumni awards. Submit your nomination by January 31 for awards presented the following Homecoming. Nominations will be kept on file for future consideration.

Alumni Honored at Homecoming 2012

A world-renowned astronomer, an entrepreneur in public relations, and a retired local Greenville couple received Greenville College's 2012 Alumni Awards during the College’s Homecoming chapel service on Friday, October 19, and again at the annual alumni dinner the following evening.

The honorees include Distinguished Alumnus, Dr. Robert Joseph; Outstanding Young Alumna, Jennifer Hanson-dePaula; and recipients of the College's Loyalty Award, Elliott and Cynthia Wiegand.

Dr. Robert Joseph, astronomer and professor at the University of Hawaii, received the College’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. The 1961 graduate is recognized worldwide for his research including star formation from colliding galaxies.

A 2000 graduate and co-founder of Mixtus Media, Jennifer Hanson-dePaula received the College’s Outstanding Young Alumna Award for her dedication to excellence in helping musicians, authors, small businesses and churches relate to wider audiences through social media and relationship marketing.

Elliott and Cynthia Wiegand, 1960 and 1961 graduates respectively, accepted the College’s Loyalty Award for giving their “time, talent, and treasure” to their alma mater.

These individuals received special recognition for modeling the ideals of Greenville College, demonstrating Christian discipleship, and making significant contributions to their fields of service.

Alumni Awards Nomination and Review Process

Each year the Greenville College Alumni Association presents three awards. The eligibility criteria for each award are available at the top right of this page. The GC Alumni Association invites all alumni to nominate individuals for these awards. In general, nominees lead lives that conform with the mission, vision and standards set forth in the College’s Foundational Documents.

Nominate someone online using the Nomination Form. Hard copy nomination forms can be obtained from the Office of Alumni Relations, or you can download and print a form. When completed, the nomination form may be submitted electronically or mailed to the Office of Alumni Relations, 315 E. College Ave., Greenville, IL 62246.
