Senior Edgar Townsend Races to NCAA Division III Indoor 55-Meter Hurdle Championship

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Greenville College senior Edgar Townsend is once again an NCAA Division III national champion. At the NCAA indoor championships this weekend at DePauw, Townsend ran a meet-best 7.46 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles to become Greenville's first NCAA Division III indoor national champion by five hundredths of a second.

Greenville College Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet Set for April 10

Five individuals and one team are among the slate set for induction into the Greenville College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 10. The class of 2010 inductees include Lewis Carroll, Beth (Lunte) McFeron, and Andrea (Shultz) Vogler, athletic category; Henry Johnson Long, pioneer category; Dr. Cecil Zweifel, meritorious achievement category; and the 1979 women's tennis team, team category. The evening will also recognize Christina Niehaus as the recipient of the Order of the Orange and Black.

Greenville College Men's Track and Field Enters USTFCCCA NCAA Division III National Rankings

GREENVILLE, Ill. - For the first time this season, the Greenville College men's track and field team has entered the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) indoor track and field national team rankings for NCAA Division III. Heading into NCAA Championship weekend, Greenville earned the No. 24 position. The men of North Central (Ill.) took over as the nation's No. 1 team for the first time as the Cardinals lead the national field with 12 entries. Wartburg remains as the top-ranked women's team, carrying a meet-high 13 entries into the national championships.
