The men's track and field team earned 63 points as they were third at Illinois College on Saturday. Andrew Sharp won the 800 meter run and was second in the 400. Jarrid Williams finished second in the triple jump.
The women's track and field team was led by wins in three events as they chalked up 54 points in their fifth place showing at Illinois College. Those winning events included Chelsea Gilles in the 400 meter dash, the 4x200 meter relay team, and Sierah Ruffner in the high jump.
The men's basketball team received 24 points from Shane Smith and held on as they defeated first place MacMurray 124-123 on Saturday in Greenville. The Panthers have rebounded from ninth place to reach first place after winning eight of their last nine conference contests.
The men's volleyball team traveled to Fontbonne for the second time this season and faced a Griffin team that handed the Panthers a three-set loss. The Panthers hit just under 11 percent as their attacking efforts resulted in 26 errors on the evening.
The women's basketball team held the opportunity to win as the fourth quarter expired, but Spalding's defensive stand kept Greenville from scoring as the contest went to overtime and Spalding picked up a 79-67 victory.
