GREENVILLE, Ill. – Senior defensive back James Binder (Stockton, Calif./Brookside Christian) has been named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance for the week of Oct. 4-10.
Binder, who recorded three tackles and two interceptions in Greenville's 35-7 win over St. Scholastica, was part of a secondary that held the Saints' starting quarterback to just 102 passing yards.
Highlighting Binder’s defensive showing was an athletic play along the sideline where he was able to pull in a tipped pass, get his toes down in the field of play, and make the acrobatic interception before stepping out of bounds.
This is Binder’s first award this season.
