


GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team lost in overtime 85-76 to Spalding Monday night. The Panthers were down by five at halftime but bounced back in the second half to tie it up with a free throw by K.J. Hilliard with under a minute to go in regulation. Greenville was led in scoring by Obinna Agomo with 16 points.
Hilliard netted 13 points and had the game-high six assists in the overtime loss.
Spalding's guard Dewhon McAfee, who ended with the game high 34 points, dribbled down the floor and missed a last second shot at the conclusion of regulation, springing the Panthers into overtime.
Greenville lost the momentum in the overtime and was outscored 13-4 in the extra period.
Despite the loss, the Panthers (12-12, 8-8 SLIAC) have locked up a semifinal bid in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Friday and will play at either Webster or Westminster at 8 p.m.
