Women’s Soccer Kicks Off 2011 With a Win; Dominates Lindenwood 5-3

BELLVILLE, Ill. – The GC women started the 2011 season off on the right foot Thursday as they handled the Lady Lynx of Lindenwood Belleville in a 5-3 decision.

The panthers owned the pitch blasting 15 shots for five goals on their way to victory.

“Thursday was exciting for us as a team,” commented head coach Brian McMahon. “Five goals is a nice way to open the season offensively and set the tone for us this year.”

Women’s soccer will again take the field Saturday, September 3-5 as they travel to San Antonio, Texas to battle Mary Hardin Baylor and Trinity University in a highly competitive weekend road trip.
