Women's Basketball Pulls Through in SLIAC OT Battle

CARLINVILLE, Ill.-- The Lady Panthers saw success against fellow Conference team Blackburn as GC came back from a first half deficit to tie the game and overtake the Beavers in overtime.

Katelyn Wise and Laura Hobbie led Greenville. Wise scored 16 points for the Panthers and had 14 rebounds, while Hobbie added 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

The Panthers had an impressive defensive game as well, with Kayla Hyde adding another 14 rebounds for GC and Coley Baker recording 4 blocks.

GC went into the locker room at halftime down 33-29 and came back in the second half, bringing the game to 60-60 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Greenville came out on top, scoring 9 to Blackburn's 5 points and taking the game with a final score of 69-65.

The Lady Panthers play on the road again Wednesday, Jan. 30, when they take on Eureka at 6:00pm.
