FULTON, Mo. -- The men's basketball team picked up a critical win Tuesday night, as they topped Westminster 103-96 in double overtime. Jonas McBride posted a game-high 27 points to pace the Panther effort.
Greenville trailed 38-34 at the half but pushed the game to overtime tied at 78. After the first overtime, the score stood at 87-87 before the Panthers outscored Westminster by nine in the second extra session.
Markeith Brown continued his season's strong offensive efforts, posting 21 points in the win. Jordan Smith added 17 points. Simon Martin added 10 rebounds to lead both teams.
An 84 percent performance from the free throw line was important to the win as Greenville made 32 of its 38 free throws.
The Panthers third straight win evened their conference mark at 2-2 and pushed their season record to 6-5. The men play Fontbonne on Thursday night at home beginning at 8 p.m.
