FULTON, Mo. -- Greenville women's basketball, led by senior Laura Hobbie, dropped a close game to the Westminster Blue Jays, 58-52.
Hobbie was impressive for the Panthers, recording 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Hobbie was the leading scorer of the game.
Katelyn Wise ended the game with 13 points, the second most for the Panthers. Coley Baker led GC in rebounds, grabbing 12 in the game.
The game started slow for Greenville, with the Blue Jays going on a 12-0 run early in the first half. GC was able to hang on however, and were only down 7 points heading into halftime, 29-22. The second half went better for the Panthers, but they could not hold off Westminster, and the game ended 58-52.
This loss brings GC's record to 10-11 (5-7 SLIAC). The Lady Panthers will return to their home court on Saturday, February 9 at 1:00pm to take on Spalding. The Golden Eagles are ranked fourth in the SLIAC and GC hopes to upset them to improve their Conference record.
