Indianapolis Colts' Ken Johnson to be Victory Bowl Speaker

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- Ken Johnson, the current chaplain for the Indianapolis Colts, will be speaking at the 2012 NCCAA Victory Bowl banquet in Greenville this Friday.

Johnson is a published author of his own autobiography called "Journey to Excellence," in which he opens up about his personal life and his faith journey.

Athletics were his escape from the inner city Dallas community where he grew up, but upon his college graduation from the University of Tulsa, he suffered a knee injury that ended his hopes of becoming a professional football player. He went on to serve in the US military and as a Tulsa police officer, where he developed a passion for the plight of today's youth.

That passion led him to become an inspirational and compelling speaker and start his own business, Ken Johnson Enterprises. He has also worked for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and formed his own charity called the Helping Hand Group, which serves inner-city youth. Johnson's

He is currently serving as the Chaplain for the Indianapolis Colts, where he strives to help the team understand and rise above their individual struggles, temptations, and the challenges that come with being a professional athlete in tody's society.

Johnson speaks at churches, men's retreats, and schools to share his love for God and encourage people to seek Him as well. He aims to motivate, educate, and inspire others through his messages.  Johnson has a true desire to inspire others and is sure to be an excellent asset to the Victory Bowl event.

Johnson resides in Indianapolis with his wife, Della. The couple have three children; Dominick, Kendall, and Kristina.
