GREENVILLE, Ill.-- Greenville Volleyball remains undefeated in the SLIAC, overtaking Fontbonne with a 3-0 sweep.
The Lady Panthers outplayed the Griffins, winning three sets in a row with impressive scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-14.
The GC attack was lead by Tricia Gall, who had 19 kills in the game. Gall's offensive dominiation was key for Greenville. Nicole Schaffer, Corinne Coon, and Ansley DeVrieze also added to the Panther offense with Schaffer making 7 kills and Coon and DeVrieze both recording 6. Ellen Lueking also helped GC, as she was credited with 36 assists.
Greenville's defense was also key to their victory. The team had 4 blocks in the match and held Fontbonne to 17 points or less in all three sets. Schaffer was also strong defensively for the Panthers, ending the night with 15 digs. Jamie Schollenbruch contributed an additional 8 digs to the team's total.
With this win, Greenville keeps the top spot in the Confrence, with a record of 10-6 (6-0 SLIAC). They hope to continue their SLIAC win streak Saturday, Sept. 29 when they travel to MacMurray to take on the Highlanders.
