Women's Softball
Panther Softball - A strong tradition. Over the years, Greenville College Softball has experienced much success, both on the field and most importantly in its mission to develop young women of excellenece and integrity. Off the field, Panther alumni have gone on to be successful in grad school (two currently excelling in medical school), service fields( a couple recent grads in the nursing profession), education (many recent and previous grads who are star teachers), as well as numerous other occupations including researchers, media specialists, etc...In each of the last three decades, the Panthers have excelled, with integrity, on the field as well. In the 80's the Panthers enjoyed six consecutive 20+ win seasons and two National Tournament appearances in the NAIA. In the mid 90's GC Softball came back with three consecutive 20+ win seasons and a couple trips to the NCCAA National Tournament. Finally, the 2008 Panthers, with their seven senior players, are ready to cap off a rebuilding process, over the last four years, which included two consecutive trips to the SLIAC Conference tournament and winning the newly established Sportmanship Award in 2006. Last year's team was invited to the NCCAA National Tournament as well. Panther field, with its new scoreboard, new press box, new drainage system, new outfield fence, new tarp, revamped dugouts, and sound system, is one of the most fun places to play in the conference.
