Ruby Dare Memorial Library
Irvin L. Young Library Tower

The Ruby E. Dare Library was constructed in 1950, enlarged in 1970 and enlarged in 1991 with the addition of the Irvin L. Young Library Tower. Air-conditioned and carpeted throughout, the library is a pleasant place to study or just meditate. More than 120,000 books, 540 periodicals, newspapers, and pamphlets are included in addition to 4,000 recordings, music scores, mounted pictures, slides, and microfilm facilities. Individual study carrels, a music listening room, group study rooms, and a computerized writing laboratory are also provided. In addition, the Media Center and the Educational Resources Center provide faculty and students with a wide array of audiovisual equipment and services, and teacher education materials normally found in the public schools. A staff of professional librarians and student assistants are always available to make use of the library more effective and meaningful. The friendly help of a staff member can make a big difference when working on a research project or just selecting a good book for leisure reading.
