Campus Master Plan
Property Development
Science
- The Ayers Science Field Station, housed on 140 acres north of Greenville on Ayers Road, was originally purchased
by a member of the science faculty, and the college has been making payments on the land. Recently the college took full ownership of the Ayers Station property.
The land is used primarily by the environmental biology program. During the
summer of 2001 an observatory was built on the property. The cost
for the acquisition or final payoff of the property was $210,000.
In addition to the acquisition, further development of the property
is needed to add a science field station in memory of John &
Martha Ayers.

Athletics - The College purchased 20 acres in 1998 south
of our current athletic field area. The College does not have enough
practice or game fields for our fall athletic teams. The current
athletic field area needs locker room space, toilets, and an improved
concession area. The new field development needs to include restroom
facilities, and a sprinkler system for the fields.
Parking - One of the biggest challenges
is the area of parking on our campus. We are adding more than 80
spots for the 2001-2002 year. A review of the plat below will show
parking for the future.
In December 2003, the college purchased the Rinderer Building and property denoted as "Potential Acquisition" on the drawing above. This was made possible because of the work of the John M. Strahl Legacy Committee which has been raising funds for athletic development.
According to the plan, the facility will become a mini-field house with Locker Rooms and Restroom facilities for the John M. Strahl Athletic Complex.
