The College
Greenville College is a four-year, coeducational
Christian liberal arts college located in Greenville, Illinois.
Founded in 1892, it is affiliated with the Free
Methodist Church.
Mission
Greenville College transforms students for lives
of character and service through a Christ-centered education in
the liberating arts and sciences.
Leadership
Greenville College was founded by the Free Methodist
Church and still maintains a close affiliation with the denomination.
Greenville is owned and controlled by a Board
of Trustees. Leadership and direction are provided by President
V. James Mannoia and the President's
Cabinet.

Location
Our campus is located in the community of Greenville,
Illinois, a town of 6,500 people just 45 miles east of St. Louis.
Housing includes five
major residence halls and 12 upper division houses. A new 12-unit
apartment complex houses 60 upper division students. Fifteen major
buildings are located on 50 acres.

Enrollment
Approximately 980 traditional students come from
40 states and 8 foreign countries, divided almost equally among
men and women. The Adult Studies
division, including undergraduate, degree-completion
and graduate students, serves an additional
250 students.
Accreditation and Affiliations
Greenville is fully accredited by the North
Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Illinois
Office of Education. Greenville holds membership in the Evangelical
Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), Council
for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and Christian
College Consortium.
Greenville College has 53 full time and 15 adjunct
teaching; the student - faculty ratio is 15:1. All professors teach
and advise students and, although their primary function is teaching,
faculty members regularly publish articles in scholarly journals
and author textbooks. Sixty-three percent have doctoral or terminal
degrees in their specialties.

Greenville admits qualified students of any faith
who desire liberal arts education taught and interpreted within
an evangelical Christian context, without regard to race, color,
creed, gender, national origin, or disability.

Tuition & Costs
Greenville College's comprehensive fee for 2004-2005 is $22,584.
This includes $16,724 for full-time tuition and $5,760 for room
and board. Books, supplies, laboratory fees and technology fees
are extra, averaging $800.

Financial Aid awards in the form of scholarships, grants, loans,
and campus jobs are given annually. Over 90% of all students receive
assistance, with average awards exceeding $12, 400

Greenville College offers over 50 majors through 17 departments. Signature
programs include Contemporary
Christian Music, Digital
Media, Media
Promotions, Urban/Cross
Cultural Ministries and the Zahniser
Institute for Environmental Studies. Additionally, Greenville
College offers two degrees under the division of Adult
Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership (GOAL)
and a master of arts in Leadership and Ministry (LAMP).
Each year at least 500 courses are offered; the minimum required
for graduation is at least thirty-three courses. The general
education core offered by Greenville College is guided by a
strengths-based approach
assisting students in choosing majors, identifying extracurricular
activities and developing a lifelong process of education. The core
program includes foundations in the liberal arts , an introduction
to Christian thought and life, a foundation of science, and a capstone
seminar with an integration across the disciplines. The general
education program also includes courses in fine arts, humanities,
religion, science, mathematics, and social sciences.
Classes meet during two semesters, a January interterm, and three
summer sessions. Interterm allows students to take nontraditional
courses or travel overseas. Classes in English as a second language
are available, as is free tutoring for many classes. The college
allows advanced degree and multiple degree programs. Most departments
encourage or require an internship, co-op experience, or senior
project or recital.

Home of the Panthers the Athletic Department is a vital part of the
total college experience for each student athlete. Our philosophy
serves to aid the institution in accomplishing its mission. We strive
to help the student athlete recognize that learning is lifelong process.
The pursuit of learning combined with athletics should be the goal
of all Greenville College athletes.
The Program:
The objective of the athletic program is to help the student athlete
to not only advance their athletic skills but to use the athletic
experience to mature in their spiritual growth and expand their
academic life.
Affiliations:
Greenville College is a member of the NCAA,
Division III and the National
Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). We are affiliated
with the St. Louis
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. SLIAC is an eight-member
conference with colleges located within a hundred mile radius of
St. Louis, Missouri. The football program participates in the Illini-Badger
Football Conference, an eight-team conference composed of teams
from Illinois and Wisconsin.

The Senate is the student governing body. It's elected president is
an ex-officio member of Faculty Council, the faculty governing body.
Most faculty committees have at least one student member. Students
manage the College newspaper and yearbook, radio station, AGAPE music
festival, homecoming, concerts, social activities, and all clubs and
student organizations.

Student Employment
Greenville College hires each year approximately 350 students through
campus employment or Federal College Work Study (FCWS) program. As

To support spiritual growth, the college offers
chapel programs, vespers, Bible study and discipleship groups.
Campus Activities
Greenville Colleges active campus life includes
14 varsity sports, intramurals,
student government, music
groups, WGRN 89.5 FM campus
radio station, and a variety of social,
cultural, and religious activities.
Greenville College serves as host for numerous high-profile
individuals and events, including Dr. James Dobson, Christian author,
speaker and founder of Focus on the Family; Tommy Lasorda, retired
manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers; and the Agape
Music Festival, an annual two-day contemporary Christian music
event drawing top CCM artists and large crowds to the Bond County
Fairgrounds in Greenville,
Illinois.
