GC NEWS: As with many Christian college campuses across the nation, Greenville College responded to the events of September 11 in a variety of ways. Classes were canceled for two hours the day of the event in order that the campus could gather for a special prayer chapel in the FM church. The campus community gathered for prayer on Scott Field for the National Day of Prayer on Friday.

GC students, faculty and staff also responded with paper and pen. President Mannoia
published his comments on the tragedy, a student currently studying in the Middle East
shared his thoughts, and the student newspaper, The Papyrus, laid aside that week's issue and produced a special issue containing student and faculty stories and editorials about September 11.
