Dear Prospective Students,
Greetings from Greenville College! We hope you are all enjoying
a fabulous summer vacation and having tons of fun in the sun. The
Fall Semester begins September 5, and students will be moving back
to campus in a couple of weeks.
For those of you who are going to be new students, we look forward
to seeing you at the end of the month. Those of you who are in high
school should definitely check out the Scholarship Competitions
and Preview Days that are coming up throughout the year.
Enjoy the rest of this issue...and thank you for your continued

GC NEWS: GC ASSIGNED NEW MAILING ADDRESS FOR STUDENTS
Greenville College was recently assigned a mailing address for the
mail of students. The change will speed up delivery to campus mailboxes.
The new address for students follows:
STUDENT NAME, Greenville College, 317 E. College Ave., Greenville,
IL 62246.

GC NEWS: JARS OF CLAY RECEIVE GC DEGREE

Greenville College, the birthplace of the wildly popular Christian
music band Jars of Clay, took the unusual action Commencement weekend
of granting honorary bachelor's degrees to its most famous alumni.
President V. James Mannoia, Jr. presented honorary Bachelor of Creative
Arts degrees to the four members of Jars of Clay Dan Haseltine,
Charlie Lowell, Steve Mason, and Matt Odmark.

GC NEWS: MEN'S TRACK & FIELD WINS GC'S FIRST NATIONAL TITLE

The May 3-5 trip to Cedarville, Ohio proved a fruitful one, as the
Greenville College Men's Track
and Field team won the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic
Association) National
Championship. This is the first time the team has won the meet,
and it is also the first national
championship in any sport for the college.

GC NEWS: GC PARTNERS WITH GALLUP'S STRENGTHSFINDER AS NATIONAL TEST

Greenville College is pleased to announce a partnership with the
Gallup Organization. The college has adopted Gallup's StrengthsFinder
to help students, faculty, and staff identify and develop their
individual talents and strengths. The StrengthsFinder program is
used by major corporations worldwide to assess and provide feedback
to employees and managers. GC students can now use the StrengthsFinder
feedback to help them choose majors, identify extracurricular activities,
and generally assist with the lifelong process of education.

GC NEWS: GC STUDENTS HOST 2ND ANNUAL SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Doubling its size in one year, the second annual Greenville College
Special Olympics welcomed 84 special needs youth from the area.
The event was organized by GC students in the Physical Education
for Special Populations and Special Education Exceptional Child
courses.

GC ADMISSIONS: 2001-2002 SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITIONS APPROACHING

If you will be a senior in high school, you should definitely come
for one of our scholarship competitions.The first is scheduled for
October 27, and there are four others throughout the year. If you
qualify to participate, you can register at the above link.

GC ADMISSIONS: 2001-2002 PREVIEW DAYS ANNOUNCED

We invite you to "test drive" Greenville College. You

Days are scheduled for November 12 and February 11. You can register
