Undesignated Giving
What is Undesignated Giving?
Undesignated gifts are donations made to the
Greenville College Annual Fund for Educational Excellence.
- Annual Fund for Educational Excellence
The Annual Fund for Educational Excellence provides an opportunity
for alumni, parents, and friends to give of their resources to
support the mission of Greenville College. The Fund is a source
of support for student scholarships, academic programs, library
resources, operational expenses, and faculty salaries.
Gifts to the Fund for Educational Excellence bridge the gap between
tuition and the actual cost of a Greenville education. Accomplishing
the college's mission, transforming students for lives of character
and service through a Christ-centered education in the liberating
arts and sciences, requires significant financial resources.
- Fall Leadership Telethon
In October, the Advancement Office hosts the Fall Leadership
Telethon in the Krober Room. Alumni and faculty volunteers
spend three nights calling those alumni and friends of the
college who typically give $250 or more each year to Greenville
College. During the Fall 2000 telethon, volunteers received
approximately $220,000 in pledges, exceeding the goal by $70,000!
Funds raised during telethon are of critical importance in
achieving the $1.6 million that the college must raise by
June 30, 2001.
- Spring Scholarship Telethon
For two weeks in the spring, volunteers spend the evening
on the phone to raise support for student scholarships. Ninety
percent of Greenville students require some form of financial
aid in order to attend Greenville College. The availability
of scholarships opens a door of opportunity for many students
who might not otherwise be able to attend Greenville College.
- Corporate Matching Program
Participating corporations will match alumni gifts to Greenville
College. Contact your personnel department to determine if
your corporation offers this program.
- Campaign
The college has initiated a capital campaign-feasibility study
as a first step toward conducting a capital campaign. The campaign,
with a goal of approximately $25 million, will focus on the annual
fund (Fund for Educational Excellence), capital projects, and
the endowment.
A preliminary breakdown of the campaign total looks like this:
Annual Fund: $4.8 Million
Capital Projects: $5, 025,000 for Renovations and $8,860,000 for
Facilities/Programs
Endowment: $6 Million
