Automated Giving Program Policy Guide

Policy Guide for Direct Monthly Giving

Stewardship

The purpose of this program is to enable both the donor and Greenville College to be better stewards of God's resources. The college can save money and time by not having to process monthly checks. The donor can give faithfully and dependably, and save the time and expense of monthly check mailing.

Donor's Responsibilities

The donor decides what amount to give each month, and from which account. He or she then fills out the enrollment form, and signs and dates it. The donor then mails in the enrollment form and encloses a check for the first month's payment.

The donor receives a record of each month's withdrawal on their monthly checking statement from their bank (shown as an ACH withdrawal). At the end of the year the donor will receive a single receipt for the total of all gifts made during that year.

College's Responsibilities

Greenville will continue to contact the donor with regular mailings and a telethon call. As God continues to bless those who give to GC we want to keep them informed of our needs and opportunities. We will take advantage of telethon to see if the direct monthly giving program is working well, and if God has blessed you to increase your giving.

The college will receive your enrollment form and process it through Bradford National Bank. The Advancement Office will withdraw funds on the first business day of each month, however, special exceptions can be made. The cost for transferring funds with BNB is $2 per day of the transfer (e.g., if we have all five deductions on the first, the cost is $2 a month, if we have transfers on two different days the cost is $4/mo).

The Advancement Office will mail each donor one receipt at the end of December for the total amount of that year's monthly direct giving.

If we receive more than 50 donors who give directly each month, we will consider outsourcing our program to a direct giving company like the EFT Corporation.
