POSITION: Assistant Librarian in Public Services

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-time (12-month) non-tenure-track faculty position. Review of applications will begin in June and the position is expected to be filled by Fall 2006.

QUALIFICATIONS: ALA accredited MLS required. Experience in academic library public services desired. Familiarity with online database searching in a variety of interfaces as well as general internet searching, excellent computer skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills are expected. Familiarity with Endeavor Voyager integrated library system and ExLibris' SFX link resolver system is beneficial. A vibrant personal Chris tian faith commitment and support of the College's Mission , Theological Assumptions and Lifestyle Statement are required. Faculty are expected to serve as role models for students within this community of Chris tian scholarship.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in library public services to undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree-completion programs. This will include duties in library instruction, reference, interlibrary loan, collection development, serials, and other library and faculty duties. Some travel to off-campus instruction sites and frequent night and weekend hours are required with morning hours adjusted to maintain a full-time load.

RUBY E. DARE LIBRARY: The library has approximately 130,000 volumes and 450 periodical subscriptions in a 42,000 square foot building. Three and one-half librarians, one paraprofessional, and 25 student workers serve the College's approximately 1,350 students. The library is a member of the College and Research Libraries of Illinois (CARLI) I-Share Library consortium which uses Endeavor's Voyager integrated system, OCLC, and the Lewis & Clark Library System, and has a number of electronic indexing and reference services.

GREENVILLE COLLEGE: The College is located 50 miles east of St. Louis in an attractive residential community of approximately 7,000 people.
