POSITION: Music Business

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Greenville College is seeking a full-time tenure-track assistant professor in Music Business starting August, 2006. This individual will serve as the primary professor in a recently inaugurated music business major that has shown rapid growth.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s in Music Industry or Music Business or related degree (e.g. management or law) is required. Significant work experience in the music industry is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be able to network well with individuals working throughout the music industry and particularly in Nashville. Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and committed to serving as role models for students within a Christian academic community. A vibrant personal Christian faith commitment is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time faculty load is 11-13 credit hours per semester, advise students, and serve on campus committees. Primary teaching responsibilities include Music Business Survey, International Record Companies, International Music Publishing, Album Marketing and Promotion, Artist and Tour Management and Album Production.
COMPENSATION: Salary is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience. The College also provides a generous benefits package that includes health, disability, and retirement plans, as well as a tuition waiver for dependents at Greenville College and a tuition exchange program with 75+ other Christian colleges.

THE PROGRAM: The Music Business major is an interdisciplinary major housed with connections to both the Music and Management Departments. These are two of the largest on campus and collectively serve more than 200 students in six majors. The Music Business major was started in 2005-06 and has grown beyond our expectations.
