POSITION: Music Industry (Contemporary Christian Music)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Greenville College is seeking a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in music industry for the Contemporary Christian Music major.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should be enthusiastic about teaching all levels of digital and analog recording technology/production. Expertise and experience with Digidesign Pro Tools HD systems essential, Pro Tools certification preferable. Experience in music industry, especially in contemporary Christian music given preference. The development of contacts with the music industry will be an important aspect of this position. The candidate should also be capable of teaching instrumental lessons, preferably voice, guitar, or percussion, and will direct lab bands and other ensembles. Doctoral or master’s degree preferred. Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and committed to serving as role models for students within a Christian academic community. A vibrant personal Christian faith commitment is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time faculty load is 11-13 credit hours per semester, advise students, and serve on campus committees.
COMPENSATION: Salary is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience. The College also provides a generous benefits package that includes health, disability, and retirement plans, as well as a tuition waiver for dependents at Greenville College and a tuition exchange program with 75+ other Christian colleges.

THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT: The Department has six full-time faculty and five adjuncts serving approximately 125 majors in contemporary and traditional programs. The department also has an interdisciplinary program in music business. Our graduates have been placed in some of the top graduate programs in the country. In addition, the college has helped train outstanding contemporary performers, including the Grammy Award winning group Jars of Clay.
