Greenville College is a participant in the Dell University
Program which provides our students with dependable, commercial-grade
laptop computers at a great discount price. By purchasing one
of our standard offerings you receive full technical support
at our on-campus Help Desk, assurance that your laptop will
work in our networked environment and the advantage of having
a Dell-certified warranty repair center on-site. Troubleshooting
and repairs are handled by our senior technicians and student
assistants so that you don't have to ship your computer back
to the manufacturer!
During the 2006-2007 school year we will be offering two models
of Dell laptop computers, the Latitude D620 and Latitude D820.
Each system comes with several configuration options, standard
4 year manufacturer's warranty and 4 years of Complete Care
Coverage, an insurance policy provided by Dell that covers accidental
damage, not including abuse, theft or fire.
We studied several different notebook computer providers, considering
cost, service, customer satisfaction and technical support,
among other factors. We chose Dell's Latitude notebook for its
durability and stability in a networked environment, as well
as the fact that Latitude is the only notebook brand to survive
PC Computing magazines "Torture Test" seven years
in a row.
Your new system comes equipped with wireless networking capability
that will allow you to connect to our network here at Greenville
and will arrive pre-loaded with software utilized here at Greenville
College. In the event of a hardware or software problem, you
will receive full technical support from our Help Desk. This
approach allows us to provide high-quality hardware, software,
and communications support to help make every student fully
productive here in the Greenville College technology environment.
