February Telethon
The annual Student Scholarship Telethon starts Monday, February 11th and runs through Thursday, February 22nd. Each year the college distributes more than $4.5 million in student financial aid to worthy students. For many students it is the scholarship received from funds raised during the Telethon that enables them to receive a GC education. Alumni and friends of the college help fund student scholarships every year by pledging their financial support to the college. If you are interested in volunteering during the telethon, contact Renae Patton at 664-6502 or rpatton@greenville.edu.

Estate Gift
Recently, the college received an estate gift from the Florence M. Harding Trust in memory of her sister, Leola G. Harding, Class of 1912. The gift to the college totaled over $380,000 and the funds were split between the endowment and the annual fund. We're very grateful to Florence for remembering Greenville College.

"First Steps" - Trustee Endowment Debt Campaign
Currently, we are within $336,000 of covering our endowment debt situation. There are approximately 7 contacts remaining. As a reminder, these commitments are needed to be over and above normal gift support. Please continue to pray for this effort.

Giving Update
Unrestricted gift support for the month of December was $327,011. This was ahead of target for the month. Unrestricted giving-to-date totals $675,675, which is better than the previous year by more than $100,000. Total gift support is $1,714,695. Most of the surplus is due to several estate gifts that have matured. Please pray for Student Scholarship Telethon, which begins this month. Dates for calling are February 11-22. unrestricted giving graph

Introducing Todd Bean and Becki Jewett

Todd Bean was selected as the new director of college relations and marketing at Greenville College. He follows David Disch who became the director of development in early July after spending seven years in the position. Todd assumed the post in January 2.

Bean graduated from Greenville College in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in marketing. His wife, Shana, as well as his father and grandmother are also alumni of Greenville College. He received a master of arts in marketing from Webster University in 1997.

Bean provides over nine years of experience in the fields of marketing, public relations, fund raising, volunteer development, and website development. He served most recently as the regional manager of fund raising for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Peoria, IL. Prior to his current position, he worked in interactive services for TSQRD.COM and the Marquette Group. He has also spent time as a departmental director for Epworth Children and Family Services in St. Louis, MO.

Becki Jewett was selected as the new director of alumni and church relations at Greenville College. She succeeds Kent Krober who held the position for five years. Becki assumed her new post December 22.

Jewett brings ten years of experience in higher education, all at Greenville College. She worked in the business office from 1976 to 1979 and returned to Greenville College in 1994 to work in student development. For the last three years, Jewett has been in academic affairs, serving for the past year as the executive assistant to the vice president for academic affairs.

She recently completed the requirements for a bachelor of science degree in organizational leadership, receiving the degree from Greenville College in 2001. She also attended Greenville College from 1971 to 1975.

As a long-time resident of the community, Jewett has developed extensive ties in Bond County, beyond the boundaries of campus. She has spent time as vice president and president of the Parent-Teacher Organization at the junior high and elementary schools in Greenville, co-chaired the Utlaut Hospital Bazaar, and served as a Sunday school teacher and assistant treasurer for the Greenville Free Methodist Church.
