Campus Highlights

2001 Athletic Highlights

Track & FieldThe men’s track and field team won the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) National Championship. This was the first time the team has won the meet, and it was also the first national championship of any kind for the college.

The women’s track and field team placed fifth in the nation at the NCCAA National Championship.

The men’s and women’s track and field Head Coach Brian Patton was named NCCAA Men’s Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.

Men's Basketball
The men’s basketball team went to the NCCAA National Tournament. The 2001 team is only the second team to make it to the national tournament.

The women’s basketball team finished 16-9 and qualified for post-season play.

Baseball
The men’s baseball team went to the NCCAA National Tournament.





Men's SoccerThe women’s tennis team finished first in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). Head Coach Pam Craig was named SLIAC Coach of the Year.

The men’s tennis team finished 33-15, tying for the SLIAC team championship.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams finished first in the SLIAC conference, for the fourth and sixth consecutive years, respectively. Brian Patton was named SLIAC Coach of the Year for women’s cross country for the seventh year in a row.
