Walkabout 1999

August 9-18, 1999

In an effort to recreate the wilderness experience of Noah, Moses, Elijah and Jesus, twenty-five Greenville College Residential Life staff, student leaders, and faculty spent ten days in solitude, prayer and fasting this past August as part of Walkabout '99, a "wilderness adventure" in the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.

Walkabout began twenty-six years ago as a unique component of staff/student leadership training offered by Azusa Pacific University's Department of Residential Life. Greenville College initiated a similar wilderness program this year.
