Greenville Choral Union to Begin Rehearsing for 75th Anniversary Season of Community Messiah Performances
GREENVILLE, IL – The Greenville Choral Union will begin vocal rehearsals for its Seventy-Fifth Anniversary Season on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. Rehearsals will be held in the New Music Center Recital Hall on the Greenville College campus (formerly known as the Greenville Free Methodist Church) located at the corner of College Avenue and Elm Street.
Anniversary Concert Planned
This year’s concert marks the seventy-fifth annual performance of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Messiah in Greenville. In addition to the 130-voice Choral Union and 50-piece orchestra, this year’s presentation will feature former members of the Choral Union who have gone on to perform as professional vocal soloists in other parts of the country. The concert will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. in the New Music Center Recital Hall at Greenville College.
Membership in the Choral Union is open to all vocalists who are high school age or older. For more information, contact Dr. Jeff Wilson (see top of page for contact information), Associate Professor of Music at Greenville College and Music Director of the Greenville Choral Union.
