Greenville College Welcomes Dr. Wayne McCown as a part of the Mannoia Lectureship Series

McCowen to Speak on Christian Higher Education

GREENVILLE , ILL. Dr. Wayne McCown, vice president and dean at Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College, will present the 2006 V. James Mannoia and Florence Mannoia Lectures in Christian Higher Education and World Missions. On Monday, February 27, the public is invited to attend Dr. McCown's chapel address “This is My Story, This is My Song,” at 9:30 a.m. in the Greenville College Music Center. A lecture will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Snyder 104 entitled, “Wesleyan View of Christian Higher Education.”

Dr. McCown holds three graduate degrees in ministry/theology and is an ordained member of the clergy. He has 15 years of college-level teaching experience, including ten years as a seminary dean. Dr. McCown continues an active involvement in various ministries as well as scholarly publication. He also served as general editor for a Wesleyan edition of a Zondervan NIV Study Bible.

It was to Christian higher education that Rev. Dr. V. James Mannoia and his wife Florence Eva Mannoia, parents of Greenville College President Jim Mannoia, dedicated a substantial portion of their half-century of shared ministry.  Jim and Florence Mannoia valued the twin values of educated mind and warm heart and it is in their honor that this lectureship has been endowed.

Greenville College is a four-year accredited Christian liberal arts school with more than 1300 traditional undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree completion students.  Founded in 1892 and affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, the college is located in Greenville, Illinois, 45 miles east of St.Louis.
