Program Overview
The concert celebrates the music of Baroque composers Antonio Vivaldi
(1678-1741) and George Frideric Handel (1685-1750). The program
begins with Vivaldi's most famous sacred work, the Gloria
in D Major. This delightful work is one of the most popular pieces
in the entire choral/orchestral repertoire. The program will conclude
with the Christmas portion (Part I) of Handel's oratorio Messiah.
For those who are not able to attend the performance, the concert
will be broadcast live on FM
89.5, WGRN.
