In 1990 Michael Pritzl started what would be one of the great and influential rock groups of the past decade, The Violet Burning. Touring the United States and Europe, The Violets have established themselves as a great live band that can deliver a moving experience, both on the stage and in the studio, that few can deny.
Influenced by The Cure, The Beatles, New Order, Leonard Cohen and Spiritualized, The Violet Burning inspire on many levels. New sounds and old sounds, drum machines, modern guitars, and rock ‘n’ roll. From start to finish The Loudest Sound captures the beauty, the spirit, and the soul that is The Violet Burning. The current live line-up includes a mixture Daryl Dawson, Jason lord Mize, as well as musicians like Doug Heckman and Matt Payne (All Star United) on occasion.
The Violet Burning's songs have been featured on MTV's "Real World" and "Road Rules" shows as well as on film soundtracks.
“For those who enjoy both worship music and modern rock but sometimes have trouble finding that comfortable place where these two distinct movements intersect, This Is the Moment by The Violet Burning may just be the record they’ve been searching for.”
--CCM Magazine
“Soon after finding his voice he received his calling. He (Michael Pritzl) started what would be one of the great and influential Christian rock groups of all time, The Violet Burning.”
