The weekend kicked off on June 14 with a picnic and ice cream social on Scott Field. Following the picnic, Norman and the Nomads, an ensemble of several Greenville College faculty and staff, sang and entertained reunion guests.

On June 15, alumni and friends pursued their interests with the day’s offering of workshops and activities. The Panther Pride Golf Scramble, held Friday morning at Indian Springs Golf Club, benefited Greenville College Athletics.

The Alumni Banquet on Friday night served as a major highlight of the weekend. The banquet featured guest speaker Dr. Milo Kaufmann, as well as the annual Alumni Association awards. Kaufmann, an author and former University of Illinois Associate Professor of English, graduated from Greenville College in 1956 and completed his Master’s Degree in English from the University of Illinois. He received a Ph.D. at Yale University.

During the banquet, the Alumni Association presented the Distinguished Alumnus Award to Judge John Knight, the Faculty Award to Dr. Brad Shaw, and the Loyalty Award to Pastor Herb Coates and Marjorie Smith.
A full slate of Saturday events, capped off by a fireworks display at the Greenville College softball field, provided the last full day of activity on campus.

At noon Saturday, class reunion lunches were held at various locations. Later in the afternoon, alumni and friends received an update on the future of Greenville College by President James Mannoia and Vice President for Advancement David Hoag. A chuck wagon dinner and “celebration and praise” gathering preceded the fireworks.
