College Goes to Zimbabwe - Mozambique
Greenville
College is planning to extend its off-campus semester programs,
offering students the opportunity to study and travel in Zimbabwe
and Mozambique in Africa. This new partnership program, Greenville
in Zimbabwe-Mozambique (GiZMo), will bring 25-30 GC students to
the University of Zimbabwe beginning in the fall of 2002.
Students will study at the university while living in traditional
Zimbabwe homes, and will interact daily with Zimbabwean students.
The GC students will encounter new cultural experiences, and have
the opportunity for internships in Mozambique.
Doctors Jameson and Primrose Kurasha are leading a planning team
for Greenville College, along with Dr. Robert and Alice Snyder,
GC professors on extended leave while working in Mozambique for
Food for the Hungry. The Kushnas who will ultimately serve
as Academic Co-director and Program Director, respectively, for
the program are currently laying preparations for the programs
launch in September 2002.
