Enrolls a Record 1,215 Students
For Fall 2002 Greenville College enrolled a record number of students
for the second time in three years. This total includes 970 traditional
students and 245 LAMP and GOAL students - a 27% increase from merely
five years ago.
Of the 970 traditional students, 342 are new students - the second
highest new student enrollment in history. Retention has grown as
well, from 580 returning students two years ago to 627 students
returning this fall. The GOAL program has also seen significant
increases, 28% over the past five years, and the LAMP program has
doubled in enrollment since its launch in 1998.
“The Lord is blessing Greenville College, not only in our
traditional program, but in our adult program as well,” says
Randy Comfort, dean of Admissions. “We’re thankful that
the Lord is blessing us during this time when some other colleges
are seeing downward enrollment trends.”
The increase is so significant, even the media took notice. The
St. Louis Post Dispatch printed the story on the cover of the October
1st Metro section.
