New Faculty at GC


Click for a larger image.Lance Lancaster joined GC as associate professor of Voice and interim director of Vocal Studies (while Professor Marsch completes her doctorate studies). He received an M.M. from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville and spent the last year as an adjunct faculty member at Greenville. Prior to coming to GC he taught private voice lessons for three years.

Shawn Young assumed the role of instructor of Music this fall, working primarily with the Contemporary Christian Music program. Before coming to Greenville he was a school band director, Regional Learning Center director for MARS Music, Inc., field representative for Martian Records, and did production and session work for Sword and Song Records. He has degrees from the United States Military School of Music, Appalachian State University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He teaches Philosophy and Ethics of CCM, Survey of Music Business, Praise and Worship Ensemble, Rock Class, Lab Bands, and Applied Bass Guitar.

Yeeseon Kwon joined the music department as assistant professor of Music. She comes to GC with a D.M.A. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma. She was formerly on the piano faculties at Northwestern University, Ithaca College, and Harper College. She has published a variety of articles and books in the area of piano pedagogy and also contributes to Clavier magazine as an author and music reviewer.

Scotty Kessler came to Greenville as the college’s fifth head football coach with 21 years of coaching experience. He was an assistant coach for 16 years - four years in high school and 12 years at the college level. For the last five years, he has worked as a consultant to football programs in the NCAA Division III and NAIA. He holds a BA from Pacific Lutheran University where he was a two-time All-American. He also co-captained a NAIA Division II National Championship team. Kessler has coached all positions on both sides of the ball and all kicking specialist positions.
