New Director of Alumni Relations
Becki
Jewett, the new director of alumni relations at Greenville College,
said she is excited about the job and what she can bring
to it.
In her position, she is responsible for directing alumni and church
relations. She will also coordinate reunions, homecoming, and ministers
conferences.
Im trying to keep alumni in touch, said Jewett.
Im excited about it.
Jewett attended GC in the early 1970s, but took some time off to
raise a family. She completed the GC GOAL program in May 2001, earning
a degree in organizational leadership. Her two sons are both GC
alumni, Eric (98) and Chad (01), and her husband Dan
owns and operates Jewett Roofing in Greenville.
From 1976-79, Jewett worked in the colleges business office.
She returned in 1994 to the student development office. Since then,
she has been secretary to the vice president for student development,
assistant registrar in the records office, and executive assistant
to the vice president for academic affairs.
She took over as alumni relations director on Jan. 1, replacing
Kent Krober, who decided to become a high school teacher in East
St. Louis, Ill.
In addition to organizing on-campus events like Homecoming, the
summer Alumni Reunion, the Ivy Cutting Luncheon and ministers
conferences, Jewett is also in charge of regional events throughout
the United States, such as the annual ski trip.
She said she has some new ideas for the alumni office as well, including
more involvement with GOAL alumni, and a stronger role for the Alumni
Board.
