Fern (Ambrose '32) Mack died February 4, 2005 , at age 94. She was born the youngest of five children. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Applied Music at Greenville College . She was also a member of the first a capella choir at G.C.

Donald Anderson '36 died October 18, 2004 , at age 91. Dr. Anderson was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a physician in New Guinea, the Philippines, (where he was awarded the Bronze Star), and South Korea. In 1946, he opened his family practice in Portland , and in 1980 he received a Distinguished Citizen's Award from the Portland V.F.W. Post (#) 4090. He later received a special tribute from the Michigan legislation and the Michigan State Medical Society for exceptional service and dedication to his profession. He was TRW's plant physician for 40 years and also served as Ionia County Medical Examiner for many years.

Floyd Long '47 died September 9, 2004 . His wife, Betty, preceded him in death by only twelve days. After 60 years of marriage, they are together again and in His presence.

Ruby (Fickess '50) Cronk died January 25, 2005 . She was the registrar for Greenville College from 1949 – 1956.

L. Francis Wagner '50 died August 3, 2004 , at age 76. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War. He graduated from Greenville College with a Bachelor's degree in education and the University of Illinois with a Master's degree in physical education. Employed as a teacher, basketball coach, and athletic director, he had worked for 25 years with Crystal Lake High School and previously with Shabbona High School in DeKalb County .

Glenn Martin '57 died May 29, 2004 , at age 68. He served as professor of history and political science at Indiana Wesleyan University for nearly 40 years and chaired the division of social sciences for 30 years. Glenn Richards Martin was born June 17, 1935 in Warsaw , Indiana . He married Mary Elizabeth Squires of Greensboro , N.C. on August 24, 1957 .. He earned a Master's degree from Butler University , Indianapolis , and a Ph.D. in History and political science from Ball State University . In 1977, Dr. Martin was asked to lecture in Hawaii for Youth with a Mission , which began a long series of international travel. For many years, during the summer and academic breaks, he lectured at settings that ranged from rugged Discipleship Training Schools in Third-World nations to universities and churches in Europe , Australia , and South Africa .

Gene AlstonGene Alston '58 died February 14, 2004, at age 68. Reverend Alston served as a Greenville College board member since 1984. He received a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in education from St. Louis University . He was an ordained elder in the Gateway Conference of the Free Methodist Church and served for many years as minister of Christian Education at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church .

Reverend Alston was a prominent citizen of his community and a well-known civic leader. He was an administrator in the Alton school district for 25 years and was a recipient of the 1997 Human Rights Award from the Elijah P. Lovejoy Memorial. After retiring from the school system, he pastored Unity Fellowship Church in Godfrey for six years. Following his retirement as pastor, he was affiliated with Grace Church in St. Louis, where he and his wife Shirley conducted seminars on marriage and finances, were part of the prayer team, and served in various other ministries.

Edward Rowley '61 died October 21, 2004, at age 70. Ed worked much of his life as a social worker. He loved people. His greatest joy was helping those who couldn't help themselves.

Elda (Friesen '63) Plank died November 8, 2004 , at age 67. Prior to her illness, she had been a nurse practitioner with Fresno Children's Medical Group. Elda was born in Meade , KS . After graduating from Nursing School , Elda received her B.S. in Nursing from Greenville College and her PNP degree from Washington University School of Medicine.

Larry Fink '70 died August 11, 2004 . Mr. Fink, an elder in the United Methodist Church , had served at smaller churches in Western Pennsylvania and in Kentucky . He had a Master's degree in Divinity with an emphasis in pastoral care and counseling from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville , KY. , and a Master's in spiritual formation from Duquesne University .

Sandy (Conley '70) Sailsbery died April 4, 2004 , at age 55. She was a teacher at Northwest Elementary School in Decatur for the past 19 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Greenville College in 1970 and later obtained a Master of Science degree in elementary education in 1985 and a school administration degree in 1994, both through IPFW in Fort Wayne . Her marriage on June 6, 1970 to Dr. Mike Sailsbery was in North Chili, N. Y. She served on the board of directors of the Angel of Hope Committee, was a member of the Hope Missionary Church in Bluffton, and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Society

Patricia (Sanders) Kuhl '86 died February 21, 2005 , at age 57. Pat worked at the Elementary School in the special education program.

Wynette M. (Neeley) HosteterWynette M. (Neeley '94) Hosteter died September 21, 2004 , at age 34. The Kokomo , IN native was an English teacher for the Warren Central High School for eight years; she was the wife of Clay Hosteter of Bowling Green , KY. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Greenville College and her Master's Degree from Western Kentucky University . She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Free Methodist Church in Bowling Green , KY.
