New Leadership for Student Success
Greenville
College has hired R.
Pepper Dill, Ph.D. as the institution’s new vice president
of enrollment management, effective April 15. Dill comes to Greenville
College from Howard Payne University in Texas, where he served as
vice president for student affairs and enrollment.
“Dr. Dill will bring a wealth of high-level experience to
Greenville College,” said President Mannoia. “I believe
he has the vision, creativity, heart, and leadership skills to further
the momentum we are feeling on campus.”
In the newly created position, Dill will plan, administer and
evaluate the traditional age undergraduate recruitment and admissions
program. He will manage market research and develop appropriate
recruitment strategies in concert with the college’s long-range
goals. In addition to overseeing the Office of Financial Aid, he
will shape and implement efforts toward student retention, working
with Student Life and the Student Success Task Force.
Reporting to Dill is GC alum and former admissions counselor Michael
Ritter, as director of admissions. Ritter’s position will
seek to build strong relationships with prospective students and
their families in multiple ways. His appointment fills an admissions
position left vacant since last fall. Ritter recently graduated
with his M.B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
To address issues of retention, GC has formed the Student Success
Council, which will report to Dill, and involve the expertise and
leadership of Dr. Randall Bergen, dean of instruction and Dr. Norman
Hall, dean of students.
Chairing the council in the role of assistant dean for student
success is Edwin Estevez. He is a 1994 Greenville College alumnus,
and received a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University
in St. Louis. Estevez returned to Greenville in the fall of 2000
as assistant professor of sociology and social work. His work in
this department will continue, with load reduction provided to support
his new administrative responsibilities.
“Building strong relationships with current students is essential
in facilitating their success at Greenville College,” said
Dill. “To foster this kind of environment, we will seek broad
involvement from the various constituencies of the college family.”
