EXPERIENCE:            Vice President for College Advancement, Greenville College.  As the CDO (Chief Development Officer), the post provides leadership and coordination for all of the efforts of the advancement operations.  This includes public relations, college relations, institutional marketing, publications, alumni relations, church relations, development, major donor programming, and special events. During the first two years giving has doubled from $1.7 million to $3.5 million.  During the past seven years more than $25 million has been raised.  Each year represents the top seven years of gift support.  (July 1996 - Present). 

 

                                    Chief Executive Officer, Greenville College Foundation.  Started a separate 501©3 foundation in conjunction with a board of trustees task force.  The foundation manages permanently restricted and temporarily restricted funds for the college.  The foundation has a separate board of directors which is actively involved in funding the mission of the college (July 1999 – Present).

 

                                    Assistant Vice President for Advancement,  Asbury College.  The nature of the position is to initiate activities to influence individuals and organizations to support the college.  Central management responsibilities consist of donor cultivation and solicitation, campaign programs, major gift programs (volunteers, staff, president, and board members), VIP activities, budget development/management, and prospect research. (July 1995 - June 1996).

 

                                    Consultant, part-time independent fund raising consultant.  Worked with independent schools, para-church organizations, local church, and an Endowment Administration firm.  Assisted clients in audits of programs and marketing strategies.  (1994-1995).

 

                                    Director of Advancement/Manager, Second Century Campaign, with Asbury College.  Responsible for campaign leadership in Phase I of the Asbury College, "Second Century Campaign," a $13.9 million

                                    comprehensive campaign  (i.e. Major Gifts Program, Marketing, Foundations, Coordination of Regional Solicitation, Prospect Research,

                                    LIFEndowment Insurance Program).  The campaign was completed on schedule with a total of $15.3 million.  Other responsibilities include donor cultivation and solicitation, VIP Visitation Program, and working with regional volunteers.  (July 1990 - June 1996).

 

                                    Coordinator for Academics and Compliance, with Asbury College Athletic Department.  Responsible for compliance with NCAA (III) and NAIA standards for the institution.  Liaison between coaching staff and

                                    NCAA/NAIA rule interpretation.  Overseeing eligibility certification for both men's and women's athletics.  Director of the "Study Program for Student-Athletes." (August 1987 – June 1991).

 

                                    Admissions Positions with Asbury College.  Initial position as Admissions Counselor and later promoted to Assistant Director of Admissions, Assisting prospective students in career and academic counseling.  Liaison between prospective students and institution (i.e. Financial Aid, Records, and Admissions).  Responsible for directing recruiting programs, statistical research, marketing programs, public relations and development. (August 1987 - June 1990).

 

                                    Director of Application and Data Processing, with the Bluegrass State Games.  Responsible for the data management of over 30,000 participants, and office organization and management. (Summer 1987).

 

                                    Academic Graduate Assistant, with the University of Kentucky Athletics Association.  Serving as an Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes. Responsible for the management of course scheduling, degree programs, academic requirements, and career counseling.  Coordinated tutorial services for students, assisted in recruiting conferences and served as liaison between faculty and student-athletes.  (1986-1987 School Year).
