GC Web Works

Publishing on the Greenville College Web Site

The GC Web site is now located on the WWW server (or the P drive) on the Greenville College network. With the correct password, you can access this server and your Web files in the same manner you access files on your hard drive.

• After logging in with your WWW server password, click on "My Computer" in the upper left-hand corner of your monitor.
• Double-click on the WWW on "Www/Beta/Website" {P:}
• Although most of you will now see all the directories currently housed on our site, you will only have "write" access to your personal files. If you need access to departmental/program files, please contact Robyn Florian (664-6504) with this information.
• Close these windows and start your Web page publisher.
• Select "Open" and choose file to edit or "New" to create a new page.
• After making changes, select "Save." Your page has now been modified on the Web.
• NOTE: Due to the ease of this new method of publishing, you will only have one copy of your files. Although IT backs up our server on a regular basis, I recommend you save a second copy to a mirror directory on your hard drive for backup.
