| The Monarch-Chesterfield
Levee District (MCLD) has engaged the IES and its partner, Sverdrup
Civil, Inc., a private engineering firm based in St. Louis, MO, for
wetland creation design services. There are two sites available to the
MCLD, both in Chesterfield, Missouri along the Missouri River. The goal
is to create a total of 120 acres of wetlands at these sites by limited
excavation and planting of hydric (water-loving) plants. An added facet
of the project is the development of recreation/environmental education
uses for the wetlands after construction is complete. |
