Job Description

Full time position. Overview: Oversee the Worship and Student Ministry (6th – 12th grades) in accordance with the mission and vision of THBC. Reports to: Senior Pastor, Ministry Board. Supervises: Praise Team and Student Ministry Volunteers. Qualifications: Education-Bachelor’s Degree preferred, previous worship team leadership desired. Agreement with the Statement of Faith for Temple Hill Baptist Church and the ability to work under the guidelines as listed in the church constitution. Expectations: 1. To work in harmony with pastoral and support staff, relating in a manner which shows dignity and respect that results in an effective and positive influence. 2. The ability to give leadership and support for the worship arts at THBC, giving specific attention to equipping and encouraging volunteers, musicians, vocalists, artists, and audio/visual assistants. 3. The ability to lead the Praise Team instrumentally as well as vocally. 4. To be an effective communicator of God’s Word in teaching, training, counseling, and discipling situations. 5. To effectively recruit, guide, and train volunteers to actively serve in the ministry of THBC. 6. Encouragement toward continuing education via seminars, conferences, and educational classes. 7. Personally connect with current members and new attenders, and work with the Pastoral Staff on assimilation of new families. Leadership Responsibilities: 1. Worship Ministries: as the primary worship leader, He will…a. Coordinate, plan, and implement the weekly worship service, working with the Senior Pastor’s theme for the week. b. Recruit, schedule, develop, and mentor volunteer instrumentalists, vocalists, worship leaders, etc. c. Recruit, schedule, develop, and mentor technical arts volunteers (i.e. sound, PowerPoint, etc.) d. Coordinate, plan, and implement special worship services as needed (i.e. Easter, Christmas, etc.) e. Work with the leadership to develop an environment in the sanctuary that creates a worshipful setting. f. Oversee the maintenance and purchase of equipment used for THBC’s worship/church services. 2. Student Ministries a. To develop an ongoing, strategic plan for reaching, teaching, and discipling students to be fully committed Christ followers. b. Effective communication of mission, vision, and direction with parents and church staff c. To recruit, develop, and train a team of adults for ministry with students. d. Coordinating and planning the student ministry curriculum, effectively communicating it to leadership and parents of current students. e. Coordinating, planning, and overseeing student activities and calendar, including timely communication and promotion of events with office staff (for church calendar purposes) and parents. f. To be responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and care of the church van in conjunction with the Trustee Committee and Office Staff. g. To be responsible for the development and management of the Student Ministry portion of the budget including accurate and timely financial reporting.
